About FateSpin
What FateSpin Is
FateSpin is a free, browser-based decision wheel. Type a list of options, spin, and let the wheel pick one for you — no sign-up, no app download, and no data sent to a server. It works the same way a carnival prize wheel or a raffle drum does: every entry gets an equal-sized slice, and a pointer lands on the winner when the wheel stops.
Why We Built It
Small decisions — where to eat, who goes first, what to watch tonight — can eat up more time and back-and-forth than they deserve. FateSpin exists to remove that friction. Instead of a group chat spiraling for twenty minutes over lunch plans, you type in the options, spin, and move on.
How the Random Algorithm Works
Each time you spin, FateSpin uses your browser's built-in random number generator to select a random rotation angle and spin speed. Because every slice on the wheel is sized equally based on the number of entries you've added, every option has an equal statistical chance of being the one the pointer lands on — regardless of the order the options were typed in, their color, or their position on the wheel. If you add the same option more than once, it occupies more slices and proportionally increases its odds, which is the intended way to "weight" a choice.
The wheel's spin animation is purely visual — it doesn't influence which option is selected. The outcome is determined at the start of the spin by the random number draw.
No Accounts, No Data Collection
Your wheel is your business. Your options are stored in your browser and encoded into the page's shareable link — nothing is saved to an account or a database on our end. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
